On May 28, Microsoft introduced a new design for Microsoft 365 Copilot. According to reports, it loads twice as fast, delivers more structured responses and shows tools only when the prompt requires them.
That sounds like a routine refresh. In enterprise deployments, however, adoption often depends on exactly these details: how fast the assistant responds, how clearly it presents results and how much it demands from the user.
In this article, I explain why interface design becomes part of the adoption strategy and of governance.
Copilot Cowork: Delegating Multi-Step Work in Microsoft 365

The first phase of enterprise AI was session-based: the user asks, the system answers, and the user carries the work forward.
Copilot Cowork takes over multi-step work. It builds a plan from a desired outcome, uses email, meetings, files and data from Microsoft 365, works in the background and asks for approval at checkpoints. Admins control billing, plugins, browser use and audit logs.
In this article, I explain why this execution layer changes how organizations should measure AI value.

Before employees write, analyze or decide, they usually search: for the current deck, the right spreadsheet or the meeting in which a decision fell.
Copilot Search answers natural-language questions across Microsoft 365 and connected systems such as ServiceNow, Google Drive, Confluence and Jira. It hands over to Copilot Chat for deeper work, and admins can curate answers for acronyms, bookmarks and people.
In this article, I explain why search may drive Copilot adoption more than the next model upgrade.

The new Work IQ APIs look like a developer release. In practice, they show how Microsoft wants to scale enterprise agents: with a runtime that supplies context, tools and persistent state inside the Microsoft 365 tenant.
The API surface covers four domains: Chat, Context, Tools and Workspaces. Billing runs on Copilot Credits with spending limits for admins.
In this article, I walk through the four domains and explain what they mean for developers, partners and IT leaders.
Work IQ: An Intelligence Layer That Understands How Work Gets Done

With the June updates, Microsoft introduced Work IQ as a named intelligence layer for Microsoft 365 and exposes it through APIs. Billing runs via Copilot Credits, without a separate license.
Work IQ aims to show agents who is involved in a task, which files and meetings matter and which decisions are still open. Custom agents, partner solutions and Copilot Studio can use the same layer.
In this article, I explain why this work-aware layer may become harder to replace than any single model or assistant.
